Christine Peschke of Hanover wins $100,000 in Lotto Max

Christine Peschke holds large $100,000 cheque

Saying “yes” to ENCORE paid off for Christine Peschke of Hanover. She matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the January 7, 2022 LOTTO MAX draw to win $100,000!

Christine said she has been adding ENCORE to her tickets since a friend won on ENCORE a couple of years ago. “When my husband showed me his phone after scanning the ticket, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing and burst into tears!” she shared. “I thought my husband was joking – so he scanned it a few more times.”

Christine said she was overwhelmed the moment she knew it was real. “This kind of thing doesn’t happen to us – I’m filled with gratitude and humbled.”

She is going to share her win with family and donate to their local animal shelter. “I’d also like to use some for renovations around the house.”

“It means a lot to me to share with my mother and son,” she smiled.

The winning ticket was purchased at Foodland on 10th Street in Hanover.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.

Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
