West Grey Police conduct homicide investigation

January 4, 2025, West Grey Police Service responded to a report of a stabbing in the Town of Durham. A 35-year-old male from West Grey was transported to Durham Hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries. This was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.

West Grey Police currently have a 36 year-old-male from Thornton, Ontario in custody on second degree murder charges in relation to this homicide investigation. He will appear before the Walkerton Court of Justice at a later date.

This incident occurred at a business in the area of Garafraxa Street South in the Town of Durham.

This is an open and ongoing investigation and the WGPS Criminal Investigations Branch has taken charge.
