BY SOUTHGREY.CA — Recently, Ayton resident Lindsey Glazier requested recorded discussions with all Council applicants in the current West Grey municipal election campaign. 12 out of 19 candidates responded and the interviews were conducted over the course of one week. Candidates were not provided the questions in advance and each candidate was alotted similar lengths of time to give their answers. "Once it hit 25 minutes, no more questions were asked and we let the candidates finish their answers," said Glazier, explaining the rules.
The resultant podcast was created to help voters learn more about their prospective Councillors and what they think about the issues concerning the community. The producers of this podcast are not affiliated with the Municipality of West Grey, or any other municipality or non-profit entity. It is a personal interest project undertaken by Glazier. Most interviews were held in the Durham Art Gallery with some taking place through the Internet. "I thank all those who took the time out to meet with us, as West Grey Voters," said Glazier.
All candidates also have their own podcast episode — the order was picked using a random generator. For an easier breakdown of each candidate's segment, visit Youtube. The entire podcast can be heard below:
