West Grey Police Report May 27 to June 2, 2022

During the week of May 27 - June 2, 2022, the West Grey Police Service responded to 95 total calls for service.

  • 5 – Fraud Investigations 
  • 1 – Ambulance / Fire Assistance 
  • 2 – Mental Health Act 
  • 8 – Motor Vehicle Collisions 
  • 5 – Police Information / Assistance Calls 
  • 3 – Domestic / Family Disputes 2 – Stolen Vehicles 
  • 2 – Impaired Driving / Over 80 
  • 2 – Suspicious Persons / Vehicles 
  • 3 – Person Well-Being checks. 
  • 1 – Police Pursuit 
  • 10 – Traffic Hazards / Traffic Enforcements 
  • 2 – Obstruct Police 
  • 8 – 911 Calls for service

On May 27, 2022 a 42-year old male from Mount Forest who gave police a false name was arrested and charged with: Obstruct Justice Operate Motor Vehicle While Disqualified The accused was processed and later released on an Undertaking. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Walkerton at a later date.

On May 28,, 2022 a 40-year old male from Mississauga was arrested on an outstanding Bench Warrant for failing to attend court on several Criminal Code offences. The accused was held in custody for a Bail Hearing.

On May 29, 2022 a 19-year old novice driver received a 3 day driver’s license suspension after registering an “Alert” on an Approved Screening Device after being found passed out behind the steering wheel of a motor vehicle. The driver also received a number of Provincial Offence notices.

On June 1, 2022 a 34-year-old female from Desboro who falsely identified herself to police was arrested and is charged with:

  • Obstruct Police
  • She was also arrested on outstanding warrants.

The accused was processed and later released on an Undertaking. She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Walkerton at a later date.

On June 1, 2022 a 56-year-old male from West Grey was arrested for Impaired Driving and Over 80 after failing to stop at a stop sign in a school zone while children were on their way home. The driver was found to have almost twice the legal limit of alcohol in his blood.

The driver was arrested and is charged with:

  • Impaired Operation
  • Drive Over 80

The male had his driver’s license suspended and his vehicle impounded. The accused was processed and later released on an Undertaking. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Walkerton at a later date.
