In the early morning hours of October 8, 2024 an officer on patrol observed a vehicle travelling eastbound toward Durham at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was conducted and investigation showed the 27 year-old man driver from North York was out on bail with conditions to not be behind the wheel of a motor vehicle. The driver was arrested and charged with Failing to comply with a Release order as well as a number of Highway Traffic Act offences. He was released and will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charges.

On October 8, 2024 West Grey Police received a call to check the wellbeing of a 26 year-old West Grey man. The caller stated the man might have been involved in a ATV collision. Officers attended the area where the crash was reported to occur and after a lengthy search the man was located. Investigation determined the ATV involved in the collision has been reported stolen from an address in West Grey earlier. The man was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. West Grey Police and Hanover police also held warrants for the arrest of the man as a result of other investigations for possession of stolen property, flight from police and dangerous driving. The man was held for a bail hearing. He remains in custody at the time of this news release.

Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
