On October 29, 2024 West Grey officers responded to a reported theft from a local business. The culprit was located and charged appropriately. He was released on conditions and will appear in court at the end of this month.
On October 31, 2024 West Grey officers were conducting RIDE on Grey Rd 4 between Durham and Hanover. A 49 year old male in a Woodstock vehicle driver failed the Approved Screening Device test and was arrested for operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration over 80 mgs. He was transported to the West Grey police station where the breath tests were administered and he was found to have over 80 mgs of alcohol per 100ml of blood in his system. His vehicle was towed and impounded, his license was suspended and he was charged criminally and released with conditions. He will appear in court in the near future.
On November 1, 2024 West Grey officers were dispatched to an address in West Grey for an agitated person. Before arriving a second call was received indicating an assault took place. Officers arrived and apprehended a 22 year old male under the Mental Health Act. He was cleared at the hospital by the physician on duty and was then arrested for assault and subsequently released on an undertaking with conditions. He will attend court in December to answer to the charges.
On November 3, 2024 West Grey officers attended an address in West Grey where they located two persons who were suspected of multiple criminal offences over the past several months. As a result of the ongoing criminal investigations, a 34 year old West Grey man faces three criminal charges and a 21 year old West Grey man faces over twenty criminal charges including theft, break and enter and possession of stolen property. Both men were arrested and held for bail. Both remain in custody at time of this press release. The West Grey Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in this investigation.
