Friday January 17, 2025, Josh Brown 37 years-old of no fixed address failed to sign in at the West Grey Police station as required by a previous court release. He was charged with failing to comply with the conditions of an undertaking and a warrant for his arrest was sought. He failed to attend the police station for the purposes of identification on January 20, 2025. As such a second warrant was issued for his arrest charging him a further breach of release conditions. Any person(s) with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the West Grey Police at 519 369 3046 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

January 25, 2025, OPP asked West Grey Police to be on the lookout for a suspected impaired driver on Highway 6 south of Durham. Officers located the vehicle and the 21 year-old driver was arrested, charged with impaired driving and operating with over 80 mgs of alcohol in his system as well as being a young driver with a blood alcohol content over zero. The vehicle he was driving was impounded and his license was automatically suspended for 90 days. He was released and will appear in court to answer to the charges in early February.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
