West Grey Police report investigations into property and vehicle theft

During the months of July and August the West Grey Police entered into a number of investigations involving vehicle and property thefts. 

On August 7, 2024 West Grey Police arrested and charged a 34-year-old Markdale resident with 19 criminal offences related to possession of stolen property and criminal driving offences. He was held for bail and subsequently released with conditions by the Ontario Courts of Justice. He will appear in court at the end of August.

On August 8, 2024 West Grey Police received information that a 30-year-old female from West Grey was in breach of the conditions of a release order.

Officers on patrol located the suspect and she was arrested and turned over to the Hanover Police Service who charged her accordingly. She was remanded in custody after a bail hearing.

On August 10, 2024 West Grey Officers were informed a 43-year-old female from West Grey was in breach of the conditions of a release order. Officers attended her address, arrested her and charged her accordingly. She was remanded in custody after a bail hearing.

On August 10, 2024 a 25-year-old female of no fixed address was arrested and charged with failing to comply with the conditions of an undertaking. She was held for bail and subsequently released by the Ontario Courts of Justice.

There have been a number of vehicle thefts and break ins over the past two weeks. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious vehicles or persons when observed by calling our 24 hr dispatch line at 519-371-6911.
