The write stuff at West Grey Library

Write/In the Library

The West Grey Library’s author/publisher-in-residence, Alanna Rusnak, has brought another 'novel' idea to West Grey Library: Write/At the Library.

The Library closes at 2pm on Saturday, October 28. And then, from 2-5pm, when Alanna plays host to West Grey writers, who are invited to bring their current ideas and projects to the Durham Branch for an afternoon of undisturbed focus on their writing. Talking through plot hold-ups, listening to music (earbuds, please!) or using the books around as inspiration, writers can experience the joy of writing in community. Free Wifi, refreshments and support from other writers!

Fees are waived for this session, but pre-registration is a must: adultprogram@westgreylibrary.com or 519-369-2107.

Also note: the Library’s Biindigin program for October, the Falling Leaves Moon Ceremony, has to change dates owing to weather predictions: for those registered, it has been moved from Sunday to Saturday, so the date now is Saturday, October 28, starting at 5:30 pm. The location is off-site, so if you haven’t received a notification, please contact the Library (519-369-2107 or info@westgreylibrary.com). If you are unable to attend, please contact the Library so we can notify someone on our waitlist. Apologies for any inconvenience.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.

Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
