On September 16th 2021, the Hanover Police Service notified the Special Investigations Unit after receiving an allegation of a historical sexual assault involving one of their uniformed members. Constable Ryan Cabral was suspended during the course of the SIU investigation and remains suspended with pay in accordance with the Police Services Act of Ontario.
Hanover Police Service have released this statement:
As this matter is before the courts, investigated by the Special Investigations Unit, it would be inappropriate for the Hanover Police Service to provide further comment at this time.
