BY SOUTHGREY.CA STAFF — Dare we say, Spring is here? One sign that backs up that sentiment is the arrival of the South Grey Chamber of Commerce Home and Garden Show this weekend in Flesherton.
Billed as a vibrant world of craftsmanship and local innovation, the show takes place in the Flesherton Arena at 101 Highland Drive, from 10 am - 4 pm on Saturday, April 26 and 10 am - 3 pm on Sunday, April 27. It is an opportunity to connect with talented local Canadian business owners. Entry is free with donations for the local Food Bank appreciated.
A variety of trades, services, and artisans will be on full display, including a marketplace of makers, designers, doers, builders and dreamers from across South Grey and beyond. Explore vendors, speakers, childrens activities and more. For more information, visit the South Grey Chamber of Commerce Home and Garden Show website.
One ambitious addition to the presentations this year is the Grey County Local Food Expo which will take over the Flesherton Kinplex for the duration of the show. With lots of food vendors, demonstrations, videos and more, you're sure to find something delicious to eat while watching something entertaining on the big screen.
RM Catering will be serving an inspired menu from the kitchen. Enjoy Soy Sticky Ribs with bok choy and vermicelli salad, miso ginger dressing, crispy onions, sesame and cilantro; or Shrimp Tacos with crispy fried shrimp, corn or flour tortillas, red cabbage slaw, smokey pepper sauce, cilantro and lime; or Local Roasted and Charred Mushrooms with whipped herb goat cheese, smoked salt flatbread and 'pickled things.'
Other prepared foods will entice visitors, including authentic African cuisine, smoked and cured meats and delicious baked goods. But the roster of 19 Kinplex vendors has some other surprises in store from each of the Flesherton and Thornbury Farmers' Markets.
The Kinplex stage will be used to present various topics from soap making to healthy eating, with ample area to sit, relax and enjoy the show.
