The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to nine intimate partner violence calls for service in three days. Five of these calls resulted in charges.
On November 30, 2024, the Grey Bruce OPP responded to an address in Meaford and initiated an intimate partner violence investigation. The accused was charged with, assault with a weapon - spousal.
November 30, 2024, in Southgate officers responded to a verbal dispute. Both parties were separated for the night.
November 30, 2024, in Southgate, officers responded to an advice call regarding possession of matrimonial property. Advice was provided to the caller.
On December 1, 2024, the Grey Bruce OPP responded to an address in Chatsworth and initiated an intimate partner violence investigation. The accused was charged with, assault - spousal and forcible confinement.
On December 1, 2024, the Grey Bruce OPP responded to an address in South Bruce Peninsula and initiated an intimate partner violence investigation. The accused was charged with, assault - spousal and fail to comply with probation order.
On December 1, 2024, the Grey Bruce OPP responded to an address in Meaford and initiated an intimate partner violence investigation. The accused was charged with, assault - spousal and forcible confinement.
December 1, 2024, in Meaford, officers responded to a family court order advice call. Advice was provided.
December 1, 2024, in Grey Highlands, officers responded to a verbal dispute between two intimate partners. Both parties were separated, and advice was provided.
On December 2, 2024, the Grey Bruce OPP responded to an address in Chatsworth and initiated an intimate partner violence investigation. The accused was charged with, failure to comply with undertaking.
The accused parties are to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
Four additional intimate partner violence occurrences were reported to police.
The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victims.
