SPONSORED CONTENT — Life Directions Employment Supports has announced an upcoming Disability Awareness & Confidence Learning Webinar.

The event will happen on July 10 between 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Attendees will learn about disability employment in Ontario, dispelling the myths and misconceptions about disability employment, the importance of language, as well as an overview of some disabilities, their impacts and ways to support employees in the workplace, establishing mentorship, creating and supporting inclusive workplaces.

The session, led by an Ontario Disability Employment Network (ODEN) Disability Employment Inclusion Specialist, is designed specifically for business owners and senior leaders to foster inclusive workplaces. It focuses on the significant benefits of disability inclusion in the workforce and aims to provide key insights into enhancing employee satisfaction and meeting consumer expectations. The webinar is free for Life Directions Partners, and certificates will be awarded upon completion.

Webinar Highlights:

  • A 72% higher retention rate among companies that employ individuals with disabilities.
  • 92% of consumers prefer businesses that practice inclusive hiring.
  • 63% of such employees require no special accommodations at work.

Organizers believe this event will be valuable to business owners and senior leaders. To register for this event, register online.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.

Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
