Hanover & District Hospital Foundation launches fundraising campaign for critical fluoroscopy machine

Hanover & District Hospital

The Hanover & District Hospital Foundation (HDHF) has announced the launch of a fundraising campaign to support the purchase of a new fluoroscopy machine for the Hanover & District Hospital.

Fluoroscopy is a specialized imaging technique that offers dynamic, real-time X-ray visuals, allowing physicians to assess organ function, guide procedures with precision, and expedite critical medical decisions. From diagnosing digestive disorders to assisting in complex orthopedic evaluations, fluoroscopy plays a vital role in modern healthcare. Last year, over 30% of emergency visits at the hospital required fluoroscopy, underscoring its importance in delivering timely and effective patient care.

“The addition of a new fluoroscopy machine will allow our medical team to provide faster, more accurate diagnoses while reducing the need for patient transfers,” said Laura McCullough, Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, Infection Control and Laboratory at HDH. “This investment will significantly improve patient outcomes and ensure our community continues to receive high-quality care close to home.”

To help fund this vital equipment, HDHF is inviting the community to contribute through donations and participation in upcoming fundraising events. A key opportunity to support the campaign is the 2025 Enchanted Garden Gala, scheduled for May 31st at Ground Effects Landscaping Special Events Centre. This premier event will feature a gourmet dinner, music, as well as live and silent auction, with proceeds directly supporting the fluoroscopy machine initiative.

Tickets and sponsorship opportunities for the gala are now available. To purchase tickets, become a sponsor, or make a direct donation to the campaign, please visit www.hdhf.ca/gala.html or contact HDHF at foundation@hdhospital.ca
