A Grey Highlands resident is facing a murder charge following an investigation into an incident at a Grey County home.
A 30-year-old woman of Grey Highlands, is now charged with First Degree Murder, contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code.
The accused remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
Police began the investigation on December 7, 2023, after members of the Grey Bruce detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call concerning an unresponsive infant at a home on South Line B.
The 10-month-old victim was transported to hospital in London where she succumbed to her injuries.
The Grey Bruce Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
