Flesherton Farmers' Market finishes the season with some very special events

Flesherton Farmers' Market Customer Appreciation Day poster

BY SOUTHGREY.CA STAFF — Shorter days and colder nights indicate a couple of things: Fall is upon us and the Flesherton and District Farmers' Market will be wrapping up another great season, providing fresh locally-produced items every Saturday morning.

But that doesn't mean that the market is done yet. One more important event happens this Saturday (Thanksgiving weekend) with their Customer Appreciation Day on October 12. There will be free coffee and tea with pumpkin and butter tarts ready for the earliest customers. Cotton candy and a scavenger hunt will keep the kids satisfied as well. The market runs from 9 am to 1 pm at the Flesherton Arena pavilion.

On Saturday, October 17, the market moves inside to the Flesherton Kinplex, just a stones throw from the usual market location. Many of the summer vendors will be there but will be joined by a few more for a wide selection of "Fall Fare" — hence the name. The Flesherton Fall Fare will run from 10 am (note the later start) to 3 pm. Expect pumpkins, baked treats and some spooky surprises.

As we close in on colder weather, thoughts will turn to the holidays and of course, the annual Flesherton Christmas Market. This is a great time to stock up on goodies, stocking stuffers, decorations and gifts. Don't miss it on Saturday, November 30 at the Flesherton Kinplex from 9 am to 2 pm.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
