electHER, a community volunteer group with the mandate of increasing the number of women elected to municipal office in Grey-Bruce, is pleased to announce its second informational Zoom panel. The event, with the theme of “Learning About the Job,” will take place on Tuesday, May 11 from 7 to 8:30 pm. Open for registration to anyone, the session is geared for anyone interested in running for office in 2022, or who is curious about what a day in the life of a Mayor, Deputy-Mayor or Councillor looks like.

Following the success of electHER’s first Zoom panel last month about “Running for Office,” the event is expected to fill up quickly and interested participants are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

Sarah Pedersen, electHER Community Volunteer will host this event, which features a panel of four local politicians:

  • Christine Robinson, West Grey Mayor
  • Shirley Keaveney, Meaford Deputy-Mayor
  • Cathy Moore Coburn, Georgian Bluffs Councillor
  • Megan Myles, Northern Bruce Peninsula Councillor

At electHER, they believe their resources and events should be open and accessible to all. That's why there is no charge for this Learning Event. If you wish to make a donation, you can do so HERE.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.

Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
