Traffic stop and search warrant lead to drug and weapons charges in West Grey

An ongoing criminal investigation by the West Grey Police has resulted in the arrest of two people.

On Thursday January 27, 2022 at approximately 5:00 pm West Grey Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Town of Ayton. Officers located a quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine, Cocaine and Ecstasy, and scales.

A 44 year-old of Listowel, Ontario was arrested and has been charged with:

  •   Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  •   Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  •   Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Ecstasy
  •   Fail to Comply with Release Order (X2)

The accused was held for a Bail Hearing and remains in custody at this time.

On Saturday January 29, 2022 at approximately 2:00 pm West Grey Police officers executed a Search Warrant on a residence in the Town of Ayton. Officers located a quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine, Non Prescribed Prescription Drugs and Psilocybin mushrooms, scales and a quantity of currency.

A 39 year-old of Ayton, Ontario was arrested and has been charged with:

  •   Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  •   Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Schedule IV substance
  •   Fail to Comply with Release Order

The accused was held for a Bail Hearing and remains in custody at this time.
