The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is aware of fraud occurring in the Municipality of Meaford.
On May 22, 2024, members of the Grey Bruce OPP received two reports an individual that is going door-to-door in the Municipality of Meaford asking to clean and fix chimneys. The individual is described as male, driving a red dodge pick up truck. It appears that the individual will provide his identification and phone number but after receiving a deposit for the work, the individual does not return to the residence and will not return phone calls.
Police believe that there are more victims and are asking them to come forward. The Grey Bruce OPP continue to investigate this event.
Anyone with information regarding this missing person investigation is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a secure web-tip at www.cstip.ca, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2000.
