Charges laid in fatal two vehicle collision on Hwy 6 in West Grey

On June 17, 2022, at approximately 6:39 pm, the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), West Grey Police Service, West Grey Fire Department and Grey County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a motor vehicle, and a motorcycle on Highway 6 in the Township of West Grey.

The driver of the motorcycle was transported to the Durham Hospital where they were pronounced deceased. They have been identified as Bailey DUROCHER, 24 years-of-age from the Township of Georgian-Bluffs.

The Grey Bruce OPP have arrested and charged a 62-year-old, from Utopia with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired.
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
  • Operation causing death (Two Counts)

The accused was released with a future court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.

The Grey Bruce OPP are continuing the investigation with the assistance of the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team (TIME).
