Chapman’s Ice Cream has announced its proud support of the new national virtual run, The Captain Canada 5K organized by 365Sports. The 5 or 10 km run, dubbing itself “the most patriotic fun run in Canada,” will be taking place from June 26th to July 11th across Canada. The run is intended to promote community engagement and fitness throughout the pandemic.
“We wanted to support this event as a way of bringing people together. With the pandemic limiting everything we do as Canadians, feeling connected in any way is very important for our collective mental health,” commented Ashley Chapman, VP of Chapman’s Ice Cream.
This event also aims to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Canada. “The Make-A-Wish foundation is an incredible organization. With usual fundraising activities curtailed, we thought it is important to support them, so they can make dreams come true,” Ashley Chapman continued.
The event expects to get thousands of participants from coast to coast. Those who participate in the event will receive a package full of Canada-themed goodies, including a Canadian flag, a buff, a Chapman’s Ice Cream coupon and branded temporary tattoo sets. “This is a fun and active way for families and friends to come together and celebrate being Canadian…” shared Jesse Fulton, the founder of 365Sports.
Chapman’s Ice Cream is Canada’s largest independent ice cream maker, based out of Markdale, Ontario. Established in 1973, Chapman’s currently delivers over 180 of its products to all provinces and territories across Canada.
