Catapult Grey Bruce announces Tech Network at Grand Opening

Catapult Tech Network

On December 2, Catapult Grey Bruce announced a new tech network to connect entrepreneurs and technology professionals today at its grand opening.

Formerly known as the Grey Bruce Tech Network, the newly branded and re-structured Catapult Tech Network (CTN) will operate across Grey and Bruce Counties. It will provide networking and education centred on technology relevant to the needs of local entrepreneurs and professionals.

“By providing a more formal way for tech founders, independent consultants and service providers to connect with one another, the tech network will deliver the means for entrepreneurs and local businesses to meet and learn from each other,” said Jennifer Christie, Catapult Grey Bruce, executive director.

The network was identified as an opportunity by local entrepreneurs and business leaders and compliments Catapult’s existing entrepreneurial focused programming.

Catapult also opened “The Crashpad'' today, a coworking space located in the Sydenham Campus Regional Skills Training, Trades and Innovation Centre in Owen Sound. The Crashpad is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 AM - 4 PM and will be free for entrepreneurs to access in December.

Starting in the new year, coworking memberships will be available to purchase and the CTN will host meet-ups and pilot some innovative, cross-sector projects. Organizations interested in partnering or individuals interested in joining the network can learn more by visiting www.catapultgreybruce.com/tech-network.

Catapult Grey Bruce and The Crashpad are funded in part by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario. Additional support is provided by Grey County and private sector sponsors and donors.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.

Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
