South Grey Canadian Products Guide

South Grey Canadian Products Guide

"I’ve felt enormous pride in how we as Canadians have quickly come together — using our voices and our wallets — to support Canadian businesses, Canadian jobs, and Canadian-made products. We are making choices that strengthen us, not weaken us." — Arlene Dickinson, Managing General Partner at District Ventures Capital

While the USA is threatening a trade war with Canada, there's never been a better time to buy Canadian-made goods and support our economy.

We're asking our local South Grey businesses to let us know what Canadian-made products they sell and recommend at this time. To add your local business and Canadian-made products to the list, fill out the contact form selecting "submit to the South Grey Canadian products guide," in the "I want to" dropdown field.

Their submissions will show up on this page, updated regularly. Revisit this page often and shop local!

Foodland

What does 'Made in Canada' versus 'Product of Canada' mean? Look for the maple leaf in our flyer and and on shelf in-store to help you identify products that are Made in Canada or Product of Canada.

When you see 'Made in Canada' on a product label, it means the last substantial transformation of the product occurred in Canada, even if some ingredients are from other countries. An applicable qualifying statement is required to be included on the label such as from domestic and imported ingredients or from imported ingredients. Please refer to legal page for more details.

On the other hand, 'Product of Canada' means that all or virtually all major ingredients (minimum 98%), processing, and labour used to make the product are Canadian.

At Foodland, we’re proud to bring you a great selection of Canadian products! From locally grown produce to cut from Canada AAA beef to unique regional favourites, we are a supporter of local farmers and producers. Since 1985, we’ve been dedicated to offering fresh, local choices that celebrate the very best of Canada across Ontario and Atlantic provinces.

We have a dedicated merchandising team whose focus is to help bring Canadian vendors to you. Thousands of products are available in our stores that are “Made in Canada”, produced in Canada, or are directly from local Canadian entrepreneurs.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.

Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
