Bluewater District School Board launches multi-year Strategic Plan survey

BWDSB Multi-Year Strategic Plan Survey

Bluewater District School Board (BWDSB) wants to hear from members of the public in setting the future direction of our local education system.

At the Regular Meeting of the Board on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, the Board of Trustees passed a motion to initiate the process of developing BWDSB’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan (MYSP), which was last updated in 2019. The MYSP includes a vision, mission, and set of priorities that provide direction to trustees, administrators, and other board staff when it comes to the important decisions and practices that help foster student success and well-being.

To assist with the development of the MYSP, a public survey is being conducted until June 30, 2024. The survey can be accessed through the board website at www.bwdsb.on.ca, board social media pages, and at the following link: https://tejoin.com/scroll/4136...

Print copies of the survey will be made available upon request by emailing info@bwdsb.on.ca.

The voluntary and anonymous survey will help to determine board goals and priorities for the next three to five years. All members of the public are being invited to participate, including students, parents/guardians, staff, and community members.

“We welcome the many diverse perspectives and voices from across our district as we revisit the vision, mission, and priorities of our Multi-Year Strategic Plan to help chart our long-term course in Bluewater,” says BWDSB Chair Jane Thomson. “Our strategic plan is the touchstone that guides all aspects of our planning and decision-making to ensure we are best supporting every student we serve.”

As required under the Education Act, every school board in Ontario must create a multi-year plan that spans a minimum of three years.

We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.
