Bluewater District School Board celebrates 2024 Awards of Excellence

2024 BWDSB Award of Excellence winners

Bluewater District School Board’s (BWDSB’s) final Regular Meeting of the Board of the 2023 – 2024 school year on Tuesday, June 18 was a celebration of volunteers who make a huge difference in our school communities.

A packed house at the BWDSB Education Centre included special guests, family members, and supporters joining trustees, staff, and students for this year’s Awards of Excellence recognizing outstanding contributions to our local education system.

Trustees took turns presenting to the recipients, each representing a school area, or ‘family of schools.’ From school councils, nutrition programs, and fundraising, to literacy, environmental education, and parent engagement, several initiatives were highlighted supporting student success and well-being.

BWDSB’s Awards of Excellence are presented annually at the final board meeting in June. As capturing every volunteer who contributes to our schools would be an impossible task, the awards represent a snapshot of the extraordinary efforts from individuals in each family of schools within the district.

Congratulations to the following recipients of the 2024 Awards of Excellence:

Bruce Peninsula District School/Peninsula Shores District School Family of Schools — Stephanie Cosgrove

Georgian Bay Community School Family of Schools — Arnis Pukitis

Grey Highlands Secondary School Family of Schools — Sharon Harper
