Adoption of the week: meet Duff

Adoption of the week: meet Duff

SPONSORED CONTENT — Introducing Duff! This handsome boy is a 3-year-old Shepherd/Corgi mix. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped. He is extremely timid, so we are looking for a very specific home for him. He needs a very quiet and patient home. As he is so nervous with people and fast movements, we are looking for a home with no kids. He needs to be the only dog in the home as he is unsocialized with other dogs. Due to his nervousness with people and dogs, an apartment setting would not be good for Duff. If you think you can give this dog the support he needs to become a confident companion, please call to book an appointment to meet Duff at 519-372-1911.

During the COVID-19 crisis, people are working at the GBAS to care for the animals but they are limiting the numbers of volunteers and restricting general public visits. GBAS serves the residents of both Grey and Bruce Counties who can no longer care for their own pet cats and dogs. The shelter minimizes the time that surrendered pets spend at the shelter by consistently matching animals with suitable new homes.

Largely volunteer-based, the shelter receives no financial assistance from any level of government and is 100% funded by adoption fees, private donations and fundraising events. The shelter is located at 457437 Concession Rd 8 S, Municipality of Meaford.

For further information regarding surrenders, adoptions, donations and volunteering, please visit us at grey-bruceanimalshelter.com or Facebook at Friends of the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter or Instagram at Grey Bruce Animal Shelter.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.

Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
