Adoption of the week: meet Sherri

Adoption of the week: meet Sherri

SPONSORED CONTENT — Meet Sherri. Sherri is an approximately 3-year-old, medium sized, Shepherd cross. She is extremely nervous and hasn't had much exposure to the outside world. She came from a hoarding situation along with some siblings/cousins. We also have her brother, Timber, who is still a bit camera shy. She will do best in a quiet home with people who can help her gain confidence and learn how to be a dog. She would likely do well with a confident laid back dog to help show her the ropes. She is booked for spay and vaccinations and then she will be ready to find her forever family. Please call 519-372-1911 for an appointment to meet this shy girl.

During the COVID-19 crisis, people are working at the GBAS to care for the animals but they are limiting the numbers of volunteers and restricting general public visits. GBAS serves the residents of both Grey and Bruce Counties who can no longer care for their own pet cats and dogs. The shelter minimizes the time that surrendered pets spend at the shelter by consistently matching animals with suitable new homes.

Largely volunteer-based, the animal shelter receives no financial assistance from any level of government and is 100% funded by adoption fees, private donations and fundraising events. The shelter is located at 457437 Concession Rd 8 S, Municipality of Meaford.

For further information regarding surrenders, adoptions, donations and volunteering, please visit us at grey-bruceanimalshelter.com or Facebook at Friends of the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter or Instagram at Grey Bruce Animal Shelter.

At South Grey News, we endeavour to bring you truthful and factual, up-to-date local community news in a quick and easy-to-digest format that’s free of political bias. We believe this service is more important today than ever before, as social media has given rise to misinformation, largely unchecked by big corporations who put profits ahead of their responsibilities.

South Grey News does not have the resources of a big corporation. We are a small, locally owned-and-operated organization. Research, analysis and physical attendance at public meetings and community events requires considerable effort. But contributions from readers and advertisers, however big or small, go a long way to helping us deliver positive, open and honest journalism for this community.

Please consider supporting South Grey News with a donation in lieu of a subscription fee and let us know that our efforts are appreciated. Thank you.
