BY SOUTHGREY.CA STAFF — In June, The Ontario Plowman’s Association and the Bruce County Plowing Association announced the 2026 International Plowing Match (IPM) will be hosted by Lang Farms on September 22 to 26, 2026 in Walkerton, Ontario. The story fits in at number 9 on our list of top stories from the past year.
Local farmer, businessman and entrepreneur Gord Lang accepted the role of Chairperson and immediately began assembling his Executive Committee to begin planning the event that will require upward of 1500 volunteers to successfully host this international week-long agricultural showcase.
The call was put out to anyone who wanted to get involved in the 2026 IPM. Interested participants, volunteers, sponsors and exhibitors were encouraged to send an email to brucecountyipm@gmail.com identifying their area of interest.
On November 29, a new logo was unveiled and 2026 IPM swag and in an effort to begin to raise awareness and get people involved, a first wave of souvenirs was created and made available for those who would like to support the endeavour. Items can be viewed online.
“The logo depicts the 50th Anniversary of the IPM being in Bruce County (1976-2026). We think people will be pleased to add an item to their souvenir collection” stated Gord Lang, IPM 2026 Chairperson.
