The SouthGrey.ca Fall Photo Contest (“Photo Contest”) is open to all professional and amateur photographers. Owners and employees of SouthGrey.ca as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of employees, are not eligible to enter.
By submitting an entry to the Photo Contest, entrants certify that their participation in this Photo Contest is not illegal or in violation of any law, regulation, treaty or administrative act, and that the laws of their governing jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry do not prohibit or restrict the receipt of any Prize under this Photo Contest.
SouthGrey.ca reserves the right to reject any entry and if, in SouthGrey.ca’s sole discretion, the laws of an applicable jurisdiction, including but not limited to the entrant’s jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry, would prohibit or limit SouthGrey.ca from proceeding with the Contest as intended or the consideration or awarding of any Prize would impose additional administrative, tax, operational, or legal burdens on SouthGrey.ca.
Entrants must be a resident of Ontario, Canada at the time of submission.
SPONSOR
The Photo Contest is the property of SouthGrey.ca, 180 Simpson St., Flesherton, ON N0C 1E0 (“Sponsor”). This Photo Contest is in no way sponsored by, endorsed by, administered by, or associated with, Facebook.
ENTRY PERIOD
The Photo Contest begins at 12:00am on October 3, 2022 and ends at 11:59pm on October 30, 2022 (the “Entry Period”). Entries submitted before or after the Entry Period will not be eligible. Sponsor’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Photo Contest.
VOTING PERIOD
The Public vote for winners begins at 12:00am on October 31 and ends at 11:59pm on November 6, 2022 (the “Voting Period”). Votes submitted before or after the Voting Period will not be eligible. Sponsor’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Photo Contest.
WHAT TO ENTER
To ensure eligibility for the contest, please submit files not higher or wider than 700 pixels in size. Higher resolution files may be requested should an entry be selected to be awarded a prize. All photographs should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it appeared. Photos that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimization (removal of dust, cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, colour and contrast, etc.) may be disqualified.
Entries may originate in any format — including, but not limited to digital files, digital prints, colour transparencies, colour prints, or black and white prints — so long as they are submitted electronically in a .JPEG or .jpg form. Multiple exposures that have been combined to produce a single "High Dynamic Range" image are acceptable.
Entries should include metadata if at all possible. Caption information should include:
Location
Name of location (ex: Southgate municipality)
City
State/Province
Country
Detailed caption of subject matter
Previously published material for which non-exclusive rights were granted may be entered as long as you still maintain the right to grant us a license (see "Your Rights" below). You must be able to disclose when and where the photo appeared previously to SouthGrey.ca upon request.
If you choose to include people in your submission, you are responsible for obtaining the necessary releases from the individuals depicted, and must be able to provide copies of those releases to SouthGrey.ca upon request.
The following submissions are ineligible:
Submissions may be watermarked if desired, but the watermark should be inconspicuous enough to not interfere with the judging of the photo. A watermarked photo might not be honoured by the competition (at the judges’ sole discretion) if the photographer is unable or unavailable to provide a pristine, watermark-free version of the image when asked. Images will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact and artistic merit.
HOW TO ENTER
All images must be submitted though our photo submission websites, including all required fields, including name, email and other information about your photo submission.
You can select an image directly from your computer desktop, or submit images from Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for consideration in the contest. Digital images that are sent via mail or email will not be accepted.
You may enter up to three times, but you may not use an agency or automated system to enter. Sponsor reserves the right to reject any additional entries or entries that do not comply with these Official Rules. By entering, you indicate your unconditional agreement to, and acceptance of, these Official Rules and Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding. You cannot win a prize unless you comply with all requirements in these Official Rules.
By entering this contest, you agree to the publishing of your photo, with appropriate credit on any of our websites including social media pages and Youtube, in static or video image format.
Entrants may be asked to supplement their submission (such as with a paragraph about their photo or the highest resolution version of their photo) anytime on or after October 30, 2022.
All voting decisions are final. Please do not contact us about the status of entries.
SouthGrey.ca will notify the winners via the contact information provided at the time of entry on or after November 6, 2022.
